WSA Co today applauded the NSW Government's commitment to further investment in key transport corridors and infrastructure across Western Sydney.
CEO Graham Millett said the Government's move to preserve critical transport corridors required for new public transport infrastructure was vital to the ongoing economic and social sustainability of the region.
“Western Sydney Airport will be the catalyst for long-term economic prosperity across Greater Western Sydney, so today's commitment to futureproofing the transport corridors critical to a fast-growing residential, commercial and educational super precinct are welcomed wholeheartedly,” he said.
“The 600,000 additional residents of the Western Parklands City will need easy access to jobs and affordable housing—we can now be confident that they will have both.”
Western Sydney Airport is scheduled to open in 2026, generating up to 28,000 jobs once fully-operational, providing more than three million people with direct access to a world-class full service airport.
“The NSW Government has now committed to establishing rapid bus and rail services from the key centres of St Marys, Penrith, Liverpool and Campbelltown to Western Sydney Airport which will provide critical connections between people and jobs in the west,” he said.
WSA Co has already commenced early enabling works on the Badgerys Creek site and has a range of professional services and construction packages in the market currently.
