How local careers are taking off with Western Sydney International

Zelcio Campos

"I've always been into computers and gaming, and I guess that's why I want to have a career in something that is technology based."

We recently welcomed four trainees to the offices of Western Sydney Airport as part of our traineeship program – engaging the next generation of airport leaders.

All four trainees, who are recent school leavers and call Western Sydney home, are working in various functions across the organisation including in Corporate Affairs, Technology, Airport Design, and Major Contract Delivery.

This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will assist them in kick-starting their careers, giving them hands on experience in the workplace. This will also support WSA’s commitment to developing current and future skills, with a focus on developing capability.

As part of their 12-month training program, the trainees will complete a TAFE NSW certificate and will be issued a Certificate of Proficiency by the NSW Department of Industry on successful completion of the traineeship.

In the first of this four-part video series, hear more from Hinchinbrook local and self-confessed gamer, Zelcio Campos on his traineeship in our Technology Operations Team.
