Western Sydney Airport has appointed Jane McKeon to lead its regulatory affairs function.
As Executive General Manager – Regulatory Affairs, Ms McKeon will help shape the organisation’s approach to working with regulators as plans for Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport continue to take shape.
Western Sydney Airport Chief Executive Officer Graham Millett said a competitive search was undertaken to find a candidate with extensive experience navigating Australia’s complex aviation regulatory landscape.
“Ms McKeon possesses a strong background working with governments, industry and regulatory bodies on aviation policy matters,” Mr Millett said.
Ms McKeon has worked in regulatory roles for Ansett, Qantas and most recently for the Virgin Australia Group.
Construction of Western Sydney International began in September 2018 with the initial earthworks phase. The first major earthworks contract is set to be awarded in coming months. Work on terminal design will begin this year, with initial concepts expected at the end of 2019.
Western Sydney International will be a full-service international, domestic and freight airport, and is due to open in 2026.
